This is a question for the devs. I'm curious roughly how much ISK is distributed in the eve-verse. I know it must constantly be changing.
Also how much is lost each day through ISK sinks? Like taxes, insurance, and clones?

You don't make money on insurance, therefor it's an ISK sink, especially when it runs out and you haven't blown up your ship.
This is why I don't normally insure.

It fits the exact idea of insurance.
You pay ISK to insure that you are compensated if your ship is blown in a time period. If your ship doesn't blow up you don't get that isk back.
You pay money for term life insurance and you don't die in that term you, nor your family, will get that money.
Insurance is a scam RL and ingame. It's to protect(READ: take advantage of) people who are too short sighted to provide for themself.

That's why the question was directed at the Devs and not players. The reason I posted it here is so dialogue may also go with it and the information(if supplied) be available to all.
But unsurprisingly players felt like guessing anyways.

Personally I'm having a hard time fathoming it, that's why I asked.
Be interesting to compare it to the US National Debt, also.

It's pretty simple, do a sum of all personal and corp wallets.
That doesn't give you any idea of assets, but that's not what I was asking.
Of course that sum will only be acurate for the moment that it is queried, but that's close enough for me.
Everything in EVE is tracked in a database, pretty easy, Dev's willing, to get said info.

Insurance is not an isk sink. In fact, it is quite the opposite
Lack of insurance is an isk sink. If there was no insurance and people lost ships at the same rate we'd see major deflation.
Why's that?
If you lose a ship even with no insurance, 40m ISK still gets added to the game.
I see your point. That is ISK coming from nowhere essentially. Makes a good case for player run insurance with contracts. Which does fit this thread. But the thing you are not taking into consideration is that the minerals for that ship were essentially bought by CCP for a very discounted rate. That and 40m is BS and higher(don't get the newbie's hopes up).
I'm not looking for an exact number, maybe just 2 or 3 signifigant digits.
